Free Cakes for Kids is based on the belief that every child deserves a special birthday cake! When families are severely stressed financially, sometimes it is a choice between a birthday gift or a birthday cake. If you or someone you know cannot afford a birthday cake for a child, we can help!

Royal Family Kids Camp

Once again Free Cakes Spokane participated in providing the birthday cakes for Royal Family Kids Camp at Camp Gifford in Deer Lake. 11 different bakers baked &/or decorated 23 cakes as a variety of jungle animals. The directors of the camp were moved to tears by all the love and creativity put into the designs. It is truly amazing to see what they put together for these kids and it is a privilege for us to be a part of it!

We have already happily committed to baking again next year. Since next August is the Summer Olympic Games - that will also be the theme of the camp!

WOW!! Redeemer VBS rocks!

I am always amazed at the graciousness of those truly lead to help! Amy Parrish and Barb Schroeder at Redeemer Lutheran went far above anything we could have hoped for during this last week of Vacation Bible School. They inspired 906 children to help other children have wonderful birthday cakes! The stories of their generosity are heart melting and will be life changing for all of us! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! I can NOT say that enough - we have been truly blessed!

Thank you Redeemer

Redeemer Lutheran Church has partnered with Free Cakes for Kids Spokane to collect supplies needed for baking cakes during their Vacation Bible School! This will be a wonderful asset to all of our bakers in helping them make even more wonderful cakes for children in our area. Redeemer will be holding their VBS the week of July 11-15th. If you know of a child wishing to attend their VBS or you wish to donate supplies please contact the church at 926-6363 or kelly@freecakesforkidsspokane.com

Thank you to all who participated in the fundraiser and to Market Vision! It was a wonderful night and we raised enough money to help support more children! We have also increased our volunteer base by almost double! A HUGE thank you to all who have been with us and to all who are new - we couldn't get out any cakes without you!

Market Vision has planned a fundraiser for us!

We are so thrilled for the Market Vision Fundraiser tomorrow night! It is at Catarina Winery (905 N. Washington) and it only costs $15 at the door. There will be appetizers, wine, desserts and fun. Anyone who feels lead to contribute to this wonderful cause and help a child have a special birthday should come! Perhaps, one special birthday is all it will take to plant a seed in the heart of a child that lets them know that they are a special person. I hope everyone will want to come have an enjoyable evening for themselves while providing the resources that could transform a life forever!

Partnership with Big Brothers and Big Sisters!

We are very excited to be working with Big Brothers and Big Sisters now! We will be coordinating cakes through the match specialists at BBBS. It is such a privilege to work with other organizations in the Spokane area that are dedicated to helping enrich the lives of children and that recognize celebrating a birthday is a special event to a child!

Camp to Belong

We had a wonderful time making, decorating and delivering 31 cakes for Camp to Belong on June 17th! What a wonderful organization and blessing to some great kids! See what they do at www.camptobelong.org We are glad the kids had a great time! Also, a special thank you to all of our bakers for being so willing and making sure that all the cakes were made and delivered on time!
